So this last week was a wonderful week. I had so much going on but still managed to get in some great workouts. I am finished with the supersets for awhile and back to normal weight workouts. But I have to say they are a killer and really do the job of getting over any plateaus and up to the next level. I don’t recommend them for more then a week actually. I naively thought I could do them for a month. No way! I was too whipped everyday after I finished.
What I did accomplish with the supersets though was unbelievable. What use to be my max weight for 5 reps is now my max rep for a 10-12 rep workout. This is amazing gains! I can’t tell if I just push myself more because the workout is not as hard as the superset, or if the superset actually accounted for that much gain. I think it may be somewhere in between. But, for sure you need to try this a few times to gauge just how hard you were working in the gym. What I realized was that I certainly could push myself a little more and it would kill me.
Caring that over to my cardio workouts I upped my distance this week doing a 6 km and two 8 km runs on the treadmill. It wasn’t as bad as I thought and again I realized I can push myself a little be more. I just turned on the NFL network, watched the game and ran. I would pretend it was me running during the game. Dorky, I know, but hey, whatever keeps you running and motivated to continue.
The scales didn’t move again this week. But my body sure is. Nothing fits like it use too. I can definetly see changes being made in a shift for a pear shape to a V-shape. Muscles are starting to be defined somewhat and my wife can’t keep her hands off me. Whoops! Forgot to use my inside voice for that one! Well, at least I’ll find out if she is reading my blog.
Speaking of the blog I am going to change things up again. I am going with a completely new look that I think will improve everything and give it the healthy lifestyle focus I want. So, could be down for a bit.
I travel this week and next weekend so this should give me the opportunity to get it all worked out and then be back up after the labour day weekend. So, until then enjoy your week, stay focused, and keep to your goals.
One step, one mile, one rep and one set at a time.

I am working on it Amanda. Soon it will be resurrected. Although, I think folks were getting tired of seeing half-naked fat guy pics.
Good job on the supersets! And I love that you ran while watching a game, that would be the ONLY way I’d get Dh to run.. lol!! He’s a football junkie, so I think whatever motivates you is the way to go!!!
My wife, comes in during the end of my runs just to laugh at my juking and jiving like I’m running the football. Whatever works!
