Week 11 and 12 was vacation time for The Fat Geek and family, we even flew over some of the extended Geek family (my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, both of which would not appreciate being called Geeks!). My weight loss for these two weeks has been 0 lbs. The reason is because I have not weighted myself. Moreover, I am not going to weight myself until next Sunday! Some may say that is cheating, but this is my site and my rules….so, I will weight myself next week and not regret a single decision I made on vacation.
What I will say is this.
The decisions I did make on vacation were not very fitness of diet friendly. I worked out for the first three days of vacation and then did nothing, unless walking around counts. I ate desert with just about every supper we had! I didn’t count a single calorie the entire two weeks! I had big breakfasts every day! Lastly, I had an awesome, awesome time!!
Funny thing happens when you get together or go away with family. You tend to spend a lot of your time sharing meals. You go to places for fancy dinners, you go to places for big brunches and the tourism industry knows this. Thus, everywhere you go points you to wonderful places to go and eat. Once there, everybody says stuff like “Oh, your on vacation.” or, “You have all year to be good, you only got on vacation for a couple of weeks.”
Bottom line was…I was weak. Oh, so weak. But I don’t care because, like I said earlier, I had a great time! Moreover, everybody with me had a great time! Something about somebody watching there calories and exercising on vacation just makes everybody uncomfortable (a lesson I learned the first 3 days). So, basically I said “To hell with it. I am going to take everybody to wonderful places and we are going to have a wonderful time.” And, I did. And, we did!
So, now I have to get back to pre-vacation Fat Geek. I am giving myself this week to accomplish that. I will get back to my work-outs and back to eating healthy. Although in my defense, I did eat healthy….I just added desert (am I making excuses? Don’t answer that.)! There is no podcast this week….I don’t have time. But, I did upload some vacation pics in the pics section.
